Stephanie Ray
Stephanie Ray is a modern-day flutist, educator, and administrator of creative projects. As a contemporary flutist, Stephanie is a core performer with Baltimore's Pique Collective, Mind on Fire, and Lancaster-based NakedEye Ensemble.
Between 2012 and 2020, Stephanie co-organized the Baltimore chapter of Classical Revolution, hosting over 100 free performances in cafes, bars, and public spaces and co-curating the Classical Music for People with Short Attention Spans with WTMD. Stephanie is a Musician-owner and serves on the Musician Council and Coop Board for Groupmuse, a nationwide platform that facilitates living room house concerts.
As a freelance musician, Stephanie regularly performs with the Washington Concert Opera, Post Classical Ensemble, Cathedral Choral Society, Richmond Symphony, Williamsburg Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, Maryland Symphony, and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony. She has recorded projects with Oxide Games, Dan Deacon, Loris, Bobby Ge, Peter Dayton, and Ledah Finck. Stephanie holds performance degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the Peabody Conservatory.
