James Raymond

James is a seasoned scenic designer, event production designer, and scenic artist with over two decades of experience in the theater industry. He holds an MFA in Scenic Design and Technology from West Virginia University and a BA in Theater Technology and Design from DeSales University.

Throughout his career, James has contributed high-profile productions including the Broadway set dressing and prop sourcing for A Strange Loop. His design work for Bridges of Madison County at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre earned a nomination for Best Scenic Design at the 2022 BroadwayWorld Central Virginia Regional Awards.

James has also been an educator, serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Scenic Charge Artist at DeSales University, where he designed mainstage productions including Twelfth Night and The Drowsy Chaperone. His portfolio includes collaborations with Broadway professionals and a range of regional theater companies, such as Monumental Theatre Company and West Virginia Public Theatre.

In addition to his theater work, James founded JV Raymond Studio, LLC, providing design consultation for live events and special projects. His work has been recognized with multiple award nominations, reflecting his dedication and impact on the industry.
