Anchorites: To Know Ourselves

Experience the debut concert of Anchorites, a remarkable new vocal quartet featuring four singers from The Emmanuel Choir.

Taking their name from composer Tim Holt's powerful triptych Anchorites, the quartet offers an extraordinary program entitled To Know Ourselves, exploring humanity's timeless quest to transcend suffering. The performance weaves together exquisite a cappella selections spanning from the Renaissance to the 21st century, illuminating how humans have sought meaning through love, lust, devotion, and isolation.

As medieval mystic Julian of Norwich wrote, "Pain... it purgeth, and maketh us to know ourselves." Join us for this intimate musical journey toward self-knowledge and revelation.
